課程概述

本課程主要由研二同學依各別碩士論文研究主題與進度,進行口頭報告,並接受老師和同儕提問。若研究資料尚有限,可參酌與研究相關之學術論文進行報告。當週未進行報告之同學,則針對報告之題目與內容進行書面評論。
The main course content is the oral presentations of the second-year students based on their thesis research topics and progresses; the presenters need to answer questions from faculty members and colleagues. If the research data are still limited, the students may integrate the results with a few crucial literatures for the presentations. Other students have to provide written comments on the presented content weekly. 

課程目標
Students will learn how to present research results in a professional and high-quality research manner. This serves: to offer practices for giving seminars to scientists; to learn how to prepare for seminars; to present personal research results or a topic review of interest; to facilitate interactions of students with colleagues and faculty members; and provide a sounding board for exchanging ideas and problem-solving skills related to students’ thesis researches. After completing this course, students will be able to: (1) Search for literature; (2) Summarize and comment on the literature; (3) Give oral presentations, make comments, and respond to questions; (4) Draft a research abstract and how to cite references correctly. 
課程要求
報告之內容: 口頭報告以英語為之,並應含括下列內容:1. 研究背景(前人報導與研究目的);2. 研究方法;3. 結果與討論(或初步結果);4. 結論(包含自己之心得)。 心得報告鼓勵以英文撰寫,以一頁為原則,針對演講者或口頭報告同學的內容,提出建設性的看法。請勿重述口頭報告內容。若引述文獻,務必註明出處。嚴禁抄襲;抄襲者將視情節輕重,第一次該報告扣分;再犯且情節重大者,本學期心得報告分數以零分計算;三犯且情節重大者,本課程不及格。
注意事項:
(1)報告內容:每學期每人需報告兩次,請自行挑選有興趣/與研究相關的食安主題,兩次報告的主題必須有連慣性。
(2)報告前一週先將摘要交給課程助教,轉發給全體師生參考。摘要須加註主要參考文獻及其出處,方便其他同學自行上網查詢資料,事先研讀,以增加對各領域的認識。
(3)無故不到、請假、未繳書面報告合計五次(含)以上,則為不及格。
每次課前,記得於教室前方簽到單上親自簽名。
欲請假者需填寫本所專討請假單(可至所網站下載),呈請指導教授及所長核章後交至所辦存查。
無故缺席一次(未請假)將扣總成績一分。
(4)每次上課結束均需撰寫書面報告,內容為針對本次同學報告或演講之心得。
書面報告以一頁為原則,於隔次上課時繳交。切勿抄襲;抄襲達兩次(含)者,書面報告成績以0分計算。
當次上臺報告之同學不需撰寫書面報告。
書面報告之評分︰由當次主持老師評分。
(5)食品安全與健康專討三的總成績計算方式為口頭報告佔50%,書面報告佔30%,提問佔20%。其中口頭報告成績將依時間掌控與否(佔20%)、報告的組織邏輯與表達能力(佔50%)、問題的應答表現(佔30%)三項來評分;提問成績將依提問次數來評分。
本學期未報告同學之成績計算方式為提問佔30%,書面報告佔70%。
Oral presentations shall be delivered in English, and contain five sections: backgrounds, methods, results and discussion, and conclusions (including personal interpretations). Review reports written in English are strongly encouraged, and the length is about one page. Please provide constructive comments on the presentations of invited speakers or colleagues, and do not recapitulate the presented content. Cited information must be correctly indicated. Plagiarisms are not tolerable; based on the order of severity, the point will be significantly deducted from the report score at the first time, and the session points of the review reports are subject to be zero at the second time, then the course will be failed for the third time.
Please note:
(1)Each student should report twice per semester. Could choose food safety topics that you are interested in/relevant to research by yourself, and the topics of the two reports must be consistent.
(2)Before the report, hand over the summary to the course assistant to forward it to all teachers and students. The abstract must be marked with the main references and their sources, so that other students can search for information on the Internet and study in advance to increase their understanding of various fields.
(3)Absent with no reason, take leave, do not hand over the report for five times or more then the course will be failed. Remember to sign up on the attendance sheet in front of the classroom by yourself before each class. Who want to take leave should write the leave form from website, and if absent without taking leave will deduct one point of total points.
(4)After the class, a written report for the classmates' reports this time for one page is required, and hand on next course. Students who report on stage do not need to write a written report. Please do not plagiarize! If plagiarize for two times, then the written report will be scored 0. The host teacher of that week will grading for the written reports.
(5) Calculation of the grade for second-year students: Oral presentation 50%, written reports 30%, asking question 20%.
Calculation of the grade for students not presentation: asking question 30%, written reports 70%.
